Lynden, WA – CHS Northwest hosted its 37th annual member-owner meeting on December 15, 2016 and elected two Board Members: Bill Swanson and Jerry Juergens. Their skills and experience will complement the existing board members and continue to give a producer focus to CHS Northwest.
Bill’s farming operation, Skagit Valley Farms, is located in Skagit County. He grows potatoes, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, sweet corn, silage corn and alfalfa. Bill and wife, Rebecca, live on land that his great-grandfather cleared and settled in the early 1880’s.
Jerry and wife, Gertie, recently sold their dairy operation and now produce raspberries on their farm located south of Nooksack. Jerry has served as the secretary on the CHS Northwest Board in past years.
Rod Tjoelker, CHS Northwest Board President welcomed the new Board Members at the 37th Annual Producer Meeting stating, “We are grateful to have Bill and Jerry join the CHS Northwest Board. Bill and Jerry bring excellent experience and a deep commitment to the communities we serve.”
In addition to the new Board Member announcement, Don Eucker, CHS Northwest General Manager, shared the 2016 financial results with producers and employees. “CHS Northwest posted a net bottom line of $5.25M, a very good year, thanks to the continued support from our producers and customers.” said Eucker.
Swanson and Juergens join current Board Members: Rod Tjoelker, Bud Van Dyk, Tom Thornton, Randy Honcoop and Frank DeVries. .
