Lynden, WA June 25, 2020 — CHS Northwest employees and customers joined the fight against hunger with the cooperative’s annual Harvest for Hunger food drive. The annual campaign raised more $27,000 in contributions. Checks will be arriving at local food banks and other charitable organizations in the local communities served by CHS Northwest in the next few weeks. The annual campaign runs for the month of March.
“Hunger exists everywhere, even in rural communities. We may never know that the family next door or the neighbor down the street struggles to put food on the table,” said Don Eucker, CHS Northwest General Manager. “Through this campaign, we are helping food banks fight hunger right here in our communities. We want to make sure everyone gets enough to eat every day.”
“Thanks to the generosity of our customers, producing members and employees, we were able to add a significant amount to several local food banks,” said Rosemary Heckman, CHS Northwest Marketing Director. “We’d like to thank everyone for their generosity. And this year, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, helping our neighbors is even more critical.”
CHS Northwest is an agricultural co-op, with energy, agronomy and retail locations throughout Washington and Northern Oregon.
