The board of directors of Whatcom Farmers Co-op (WFC) has awarded 7 area seniors a “Career in Agriculture” scholarship for 2014. Each of the successful local high school seniors will receive a $500.00 scholarship for their pursuit of a career in an agriculture field.
Lynden High School
Clara Bedlington, daughter of Jeff and Diana Bedlington, will attend Washington State University and will in Field Crop Management.
Christian Mouat, daughter of William and Stacy Mouat, will attend Manchester University and will major in Agribusiness.
Trisha Snydar, daughter of Jeff and Suzzane Snydar, will attend Pacific University and major in Mathematics specializing in Actuarial Science.
Lynden Christian High School
Karis Van Diest, daughter of James Van Diest and Kay De Boer, will attend Washington Engineering Institute and major in Civil Engineering Technology/Ag Engineering.
Austin Vander Haak, son of Tim and Julie Vander Haak, will attend Northeastern Iowa Community College and major in Dairy Science.
Nooksack Valley High School
Janis DeJager, daughter of Pete and Shelli DeJager, will attend Whatcom Community College and major in Agricultural Business.
Ferndale High School
Kyndra Garrison, daughter of Paul and Lisa Garrison, will attend Whatcom Community College to receive her AA, then transfer to WSU and major in Ag Sales and Marketing.
